Balcony with awnings in Guildford

Balcony with awnings in Guildford

This is one of the most stunning awning fits we have done. The 3 awnings are from our domestic awning range and the model type is called the Sombrero.

The three awnings are fitted to the first floor over a balcony terrace. They are all motorised and have a sun and wind sensor and hand remote control unit to operate them. The fabric comes from the Dickson orchestra awning fabric range.

The awnings give good shade to the bedrooms in the house and when it rains you can still stay out under the awnings as they protect you from showers. If the shower is heavy you would obviously bring the awnings in.

As well as the Sombrero model we have a complete range of awnings with different features to suit most locations. All Awnings come with a 5 year guarantee.

Vertical Blinds fitted in a Home Gym in Woking

November 28, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

These Vertical blinds are made of a fabric that is suitable for humid conditions such as those found in a home gym. The fabric is 100% polyester and will not change its character no matter how much sweat the gym users work up.

The finish to this fabric is a blue metallic which fits in very well with all the fitness machines. The vertical blind fabric is called Topaz Steel and comes from our huge range of 1200 fabrics. As well as plain fabrics we can fit Faux Suede, Jacquard, and specialist blackout vertical blind fabrics to suit any window.

The headrail is our standard wide bodied Monarch track. This is the  top quality Vertical Blind rail system in the UK. We are appointed manufacturers for this superior vertical blind rail system. The runners have wheels so that they run very smoothly. Cheaper rails just slide along and can deteriorate with a lot of use.

The blind is fitted into the recess and top fixed. We can fit to the face of the window frame but we prefer not to do this on new UVPC Windows and patio doors.

Perfect Fit Roof Blinds With Obtuse Shapes in Crowthorne

November 14, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

These Perfect Fit Roof Blinds were recently fitted to a conservatory in Crowthorne Berkshire. The perfect fit blind system means that we did no drilling to fit the blinds. The perfect fit roof blind system uses a clever system of clips. These clips are located between the glass gasket and the glass. The blinds are then simply attached to these clips.

This particular conservatory had the further complicaion of 4 obtuse angles in the roof. We overcame this problem by fitting filler blinds at the base of the perfect fit frame. We then made shaped pleated blinds to fill the rest of the shape. The main part of the blind moves up and down as normal. The bottom section is fixed.

We are the only company in the UK that make this type of perfect fit roof blind with obtuse angles. Even the inventors of the system do not offer this option.

The lower picture shows how we fit blinds where there is an opening roof light. We fit one blind above the control rod and the other below the control rod. The frames butt together – See Picture below.

Arched Venetian Blinds and Round Venetian Blinds

November 14, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

We have been supplying shaped window blinds for many years. More and more builders are adding feature windows that are round, arched or triangle in shape. This can create all sorts of problems when you want to cover the window for privacy or light control.

We have made arched blinds in both 25mm wood slats and 25mm aluminium slats. The pictures here show an installation in Sunningdale, Berkshire. The slat colour is Copper Bronze. The effect of these blinds is stunning to look at. They also add much needed practicality to a shaped window.

There are over 120 colours available for these arched and round venetian blinds. In the wood slat there are 18 wood colours available.

Control Options For shaped Venetian Blinds

The control options ae limited for shaped venetian blinds. They do not raise and lower. They will tilt quite well but do not close as fully as a standard venetian blind. Fitting is nearly always face fix directly to the window as very few arches and circles are perfectly accurate.

We also make and supply arched vertical blinds and curved vertical blinds. Howards Blinds are also one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of shaped conservatory blinds. We can make these blinds to almost any shape. See the perfect fit blinds page for more details.

Note: We insist on measuring and fitting all shaped blinds as there are many consideration to be taken into account when fitting these specialist blinds.
In many cases we make a complete full size template to ensure complete accuracy.

Roman Blinds Fitted in Warfield

November 14, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

We have just fitted these Roman Blinds in a home in Warfield. They are made from a top selling fabric called Strand Sand. The design is a number of horizontal stripes in varying colours of cream, beige and sand. We used standard ivory lining. Blackout lining is an option when you want complete blackout in a bedroom.Roman Blind in Strand Sand

You can have romans with a co-ordinating colour cord control as in these pictures. You can also have metal chain in silver or brass. There is also an option for white plastic chain. The advantage of having the chain control is that it does not get any longer as you pull the blind up because it is a continuous chain.

The cord control option is easier to get to as it is at the front of the roman blind, not at the back. The benefit of both systems is that there is no longer any need to have a cleat to wind the cord on. You can ask for a cleat to store the cord if you prefer but it is not a “must have” as the blinds stay up on their own.

The larger Roman Blind Shown below has fabric joins. We use a full width piece of fabric in the middle of the blind with 2 small side pieces. They are pattern matched so that the design is continuous.
