Perfect Fit Roof And Side Blinds In Chesham

September 18, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

perfect fit conseratory blindsThis conservatory is a double edwardian in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. We fitted it today with perfect fit roof blinds and perfect fit side blinds.

As usual with this type of blind we did no drilling or damge to the conservatory as the blinds all clip I using special brackets.

This was an interesting fit because our customer chose a different fabric for the roof and sides. The roof is Regency SPC Steel which is a medium metallic grey colour. The sides were made in Regency SPC Calico.

The roof blinds are operated with a control wand that clips onto the handle on each blind. The blinds can then be moved up and down as you wish.

The side blinds are operated by hand. They move up and down and stop where you leave them. There are no hanging cords to spoil the clean lines of your conservtory.

Conservatory Blinds in Woodley, Reading

Perfect Fit Roof Blinds & Vertical Blinds These Conservatory Blinds were fitted by Howards Blinds today in Woodley, Reading.  The Fabric is the same for both the roof and sides and has a special anti glare coating to reflect the heat and glare of the sun. This coating is called Solar Protective Coating (SPC) and is highly effective in reducing the heat and glare that is so common in conservatories.

The Perfect Fit Roof Blinds are fitted using a clip in system. This means that there was no drilling and holes with screws to fit the blinds. they literally clip in using a unique clip in bracket system. All the shaped blinds and rectangle blinds move down for when you do not want to use the blinds.

One of the secondary advantages of the perfect fit roof blinds is that there are no gaps in coverage. There are no little gaps where the headrails meet in the triangles because of covers that close the gaps off. So you get complete coverage with the perfect fit blinds. When you have a roof opener we install one blind to the top half of the window and another blind to the lower half – See photo.

The vertical blinds on the sides of the conservatory allow a huge amount of control over privacy and shade because of the way they can tilt to any angle. You can also draw them back so that the windows are clear of blinds. This fit took us about 4 hours to complete. We also fitting a patio awning at the same time.

Plantation Shutters In Ascot, Berkshire

June 30, 2009 by admin · 2 Comments

These plantation shutters fitted in Ascot really show off how stylish and classy they can look.

Because they operate in 2 ways
you have a lot of control over light and privacy. All the wooden shutter panels fold back to leave the window completely open. As well as this, each section tilts so that you can control the light coming into the room. The tilt movement also gives you complete control over privacy. Particularly important when your window faces a front aspect that is overlooked.

Wooden Plantation shutters are a long term window dressing. They will dress your windows for 20 – 30 years and still look great. They are easily maintained and looked after. For cleaning you can simply dust and polish them. If they have become grubby you can wet clean them with a mild household cleaning solution. Be careful not to rub too hard as this can remove the top finish of the shutter slat panels.

The main range of Wood plantation shutters supplied by Howards Blinds of Berkshire are made from american Basswood. While there are other budget options in our range but this is the top quality shutter range and is always our first recommendation. We can advise on how the shutters can be fitted to your windows and help you to choose the best option for your window.

Vertical Blinds at Highwood Primary School Woodley

We fitted these Vertical blinds to 5 rooms at Highwood Primary School, Woodley last week. They have had a number of rooms refurbished and we were putting in one of the last elements of the refurb with these blinds.

Green Vertical Blinds

Green Vertical Blinds

These are in 127mm Vertical Fabric (5″) in Certex Dark Green. The headrail is our Monarch Headrail which is superb in heavy duty commercial premises such as schools, colleges and offices.

One of the pictures shows how you can have louvres of different length on one blind. This accomodated the kitchen work counter in the meeting room.

The fixing was top fix into plasterboard ceiling. We used special metal plasterboard fixing plugs to ensure an effective and long lasting fit.

Blackout Curtains Fitted at St John’s Beaumont School, Windsor

December 1, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

These curtains were specially commisioned by The Bursar at St John’s Beaumont School Windsor. They are hung on a made to measure Silent Gliss Curtain Track that is 5700mm long. The Silent Gliss track is the premier curtain track we use for heavy duty curtain installations such as this one. The operation is very smooth indeed and they will last for many years. The track is also curved to match the arc of the wall. There is a control cord at each end to control the curtains seperately.

The fabric used is Lanvera Black which is inherently flame retardant. The fabric is very dense and provides a near blackout for the Hoy Music Room. This is in time for the Christamas Productions being held there later this week. The fabric is one of the specialist fabrics Howards Blinds offer to schools, colleges and offices. They are high performance and very stable. They are also inherently flame retardant which means that they do not lose this property when they are dry cleaned.

Perfect Fit Roof Blinds With Obtuse Shapes in Crowthorne

November 14, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

These Perfect Fit Roof Blinds were recently fitted to a conservatory in Crowthorne Berkshire. The perfect fit blind system means that we did no drilling to fit the blinds. The perfect fit roof blind system uses a clever system of clips. These clips are located between the glass gasket and the glass. The blinds are then simply attached to these clips.

Perfect Fit Roof Blinds With Obtuse Angles

Perfect Fit Roof Blinds With Obtuse Angles

This particular conservatory had the further complicaion of 4 obtuse angles in the roof. We overcame this problem by fitting filler blinds at the base of the perfect fit frame. We then made shaped pleated blinds to fill the rest of the shape. The main part of the blind moves up and down as normal. The bottom section is fixed.

We are the only company in the UK that make this type of perfect fit roof blind with obtuse angles. Even the inventors of the system do not offer this option.

The lower picture shows how we fit blinds where there is an opening roof light. We fit one blind above the control rod and the other below the control rod. The frames butt together – See Picture below.

Roman Blinds Fitted in Warfield

November 14, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

We have just fitted these Roman Blinds in a home in Warfield. They are made from a top selling fabric called Strand Sand. The design is a number of horizontal stripes in varying colours of cream, beige and sand. We used standard ivory lining. Blackout lining is an option when you want complete blackout in a bedroom.Roman Blind in Strand Sand

You can have romans with a co-ordinating colour cord control as in these pictures. You can also have metal chain in silver or brass. There is also an option for white plastic chain. The advantage of having the chain control is that it does not get any longer as you pull the blind up because it is a continuous chain.

The cord control option is easier to get to as it is at the front of the roman blind, not at the back. The benefit of both systems is that there is no longer any need to have a cleat to wind the cord on. You can ask for a cleat to store the cord if you prefer but it is not a “must have” as the blinds stay up on their own.

The larger Roman Blind Shown below has fabric joins. We use a full width piece of fabric in the middle of the blind with 2 small side pieces. They are pattern matched so that the design is continuous.

Shaped Internal Shutters in Stratford Upon Avon

Shaped internal shutters

Shaped internal shutters

We completed one of our more unusual shutters installations last week. The Picture shows the arched doorway. This is one house of a new developement of mews houses in Stratford upon Avon. The two middle sections open inwards so we advised the customer that shutters fitted directly to each door unit would be the best solution.

The doors still operate freely and the shutter units also open for extra light when needed.

To make this type of shutter we made full size templates of each door unit and these were sent to the manufacturer for make up. We arrange for a cut out for the door handle. The shutters are made in painted basswood with 64mm slats in Marshmallow white.

Our customer Ms Broughton was “absolutely delighted with the professionalism shown from measuring to fitting”

Curtains with eyelets fitted in Datchet

September 12, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Curtains with eyeletsWe fitted this beautiful pair of lined curtains in Datchet yesterday. The fabric was Nile Pistachio and it was hung on a NEO Stud brushed silver curtain pole. The curtain eyelets are also brushed silver. Photograpy doesn’t do justice to the tranformation this pair of curtains do to this room.

Curtains with eyelets is currently the most popular way of hanging curtains. With a simple pole treatment this fits in perfectly with the recent trend for the minimilist look. As you can see they hang in neat folds immediately after hanging. We fitted them 15mm above the floor level and expect them to drop about 10mm to be just off the floor.

We stock a good range of modern and traditional fabrics which you can see in our Bracknell showroom. All our curtains are made to measure and lined or interlined. We also fit all the curtains we supply.

Perfect fit wood venetians in Marlow

September 5, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

perfect fit wood venetian blindsThis installation was one of the first ones we did using the new perfect fit wood venetians range. These blinds were fitted to the new garden room of a large estate in Marlow.
The slat size is 25mm and there are 11 colours in the range. There are limitaions on the size of blinds that you can have for this type of blind and these blinds were at the top limit of the tolerances.
As with all perfect fit blinds the fit was quick and easy and the results are stunning. This prestige installation shows what can be acheived with the right products in the right location.
