Sloping Vertical Blind for Home Extension in Winkfield

This Home Extension was a bit of a challenge to fit blinds to because of the design of the window. In the end we fitted three blinds to get the best coverage over the glass. The main rectangular part of the window has a standard rectangle vertical blind. The sloping section is made as a separate blind. You can see that each louvre is a different length. We cut these by hand as our vertical cutting jig can’t cope with all the different lengths.

The small end right hand section of the window was done separately due to the way the door was positioned in the glass frames. The fabric was an 89mm (3.5″) jacquard fabric called Chenille Cream and gives good shade from the sun but doesn’t make the room too dark.

All the blinds draw back and tilt although in daily use I am sure only the main blind is operated. The angle of this sloping vertical blind is quite small. For really steep angles we can supply special hangers that have a universal joint to accomodate the angle.

Vertical Blinds at Highwood Primary School Woodley

We fitted these Vertical blinds to 5 rooms at Highwood Primary School, Woodley last week. They have had a number of rooms refurbished and we were putting in one of the last elements of the refurb with these blinds.

These are in 127mm Vertical Fabric (5″) in Certex Dark Green. The headrail is our Monarch Headrail which is superb in heavy duty commercial premises such as schools, colleges and offices.

One of the pictures shows how you can have louvres of different length on one blind. This accomodated the kitchen work counter in the meeting room.

The fixing was top fix into plasterboard ceiling. We used special metal plasterboard fixing plugs to ensure an effective and long lasting fit.

These Vertical blinds are made of a fabric that is suitable for humid conditions such as those found in a home gym. The fabric is 100% polyester and will not change its character no matter how much sweat the gym users work up.

 The finish to this fabric is a blue metallic which fits in very well with all the fitness machines. The vertical blind fabric is called Topaz Steel and comes from our huge range of 1200 fabrics. The headrail is our standard wide bodied Monarch track. This is the  top quality Vertical Blind rail system in the UK. We are appointed manufacturers for this superior vertical blind rail system. The runners have wheels so that they run very smoothly. Cheaper rails just slide along and can deteriorate with a lot of use.

The blind is fitted into the recess and top fixed. We can fit to the face of the window frame but we prefer not to do this on new UVPC Windows and patio doors.
