Double Edwardian Conservatory fitted with Perfect Fit Roof Blinds
April 4, 2009 by admin
This conservatory in Eversley, Hampshire has been fitted with perfect fit roof blinds. The fabric is from the new louvolite range called Regency SPC Calico. This 20mm pleated fabric has a special coating called Solar Protective Coating (SPC). This coating means that much of the glare and heat from the suns rays are reflected or absorbed away from your conservatory.
Keeping Cool In The Summer And Warm In The Winter
The main benefit is that you will find that your conservatory is cooler in the summer months and warmer in the winter months. In the hieght of summer it is best to leave the blinds across the roof so that there is no opportunity for heat gain in the early morning. The blinds cannot make it cool once the heat has got in but they will reduce the heat gain if they are shading your roof from the early morning.
It is unusual to have a double edwardian conservtory and as you can see from the photographs there are a lot of shaped blinds in the roof. As normal with perfect fit blinds they are all fitted with clip in brackets. No drilling is needed to install these roof blinds.
The roof blinds are operated with a twistlock wand that moves the blinds up and down. Even the shapes can be moved up and down. Because each glass section has its own blind the roof blinds appear to be a part of the roof rather than an add on unit.
No Sagging Or Badly Fitting Blinds
A further benefit of this type of blind is that the blinds cannot sag or get loose. Standard conservatory roof blinds can look very untidy after a few years because the tensions in the support wires can get loose. With perfect fit roof blinds this does not happen because even if the wire do lose some tension the blinds are still held tidily within the perfect fit frame. When we service the blinds we can check all the tensions but in the meantime the blinds still look great and operate well.
